After neutering, cats are relatively weak, so we need to take a comprehensive care of cats. Cats may have some personality changes after surgery. At this time, owners should take care of their cats' feelings and prepare nutritious food for them to recover their health as soon as possible.

First, the cat after neutering care

1. Don't force the cat to live in the cat house

When you get home, put your cat in the crate. If he has to get into a corner and won't come out, don't force him, but don't let him do strenuous exercise, like jumping, to avoid opening wounds. If it must jump, try to build some steps for it, so that it can walk to where it wants to go. It would be easier to keep the cat in a cage.

2. Properly deal with cat vomiting

Many cats vomit for three or four days after surgery, a normal reaction to stomach irritation caused by anesthetics that does not require a trip to the hospital. If the cat is vomiting and won't drink water, give her 0.9% sodium chloride (normal saline) or buy oral rehydration salts from the pharmacy. It must be forced, at least 30ml per day, and can be fed with a plastic needle. Continuous vomiting will dehydrate the cat and lead to death from acidosis in severe cases. Daily 30ml normal saline can also promote gastrointestinal peristalsis and prevent the occurrence of postoperative intestinal obstruction.

3. Feed the cat pain medicine

The night after the operation, the cat will feel severe pain, and when the cat keeps chirping, it can no longer tolerate the pain. General painkillers are not effective for postoperative pain. If you can't get your own painkillers at home, go to the pharmacy and buy tramadol, which is prescribed for postoperative pain. Give your cat half a tablet every six hours for two days.

4. Don't force the cat to eat

In general, if there are no other diseases, it doesn't matter if a cat goes without food for several days. Force-feeding can also cause vomiting when its gastrointestinal function is weak. The cat's own adjustment ability is very strong, and so on its condition is better, it will automatically eat.

Two, the cat after neutering notes

1. The dog days of Summer and March 9 are the hottest and coldest days, which is the best time to avoid spaying and neutering your cat.

2, the cat is healthy, no cold, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms, within half a year had played cat triple vaccine.

3. Before the operation, the cat should be deprived of food and water for 24 hours (no less than 12 hours). The drug makes the cat vomit and can easily block the airways and nasal passages if food is present.

4, the cat is anesthetized after the eyes are not closed, so before it wakes up every 10 minutes to drop a few drops of chloramphenicol eye drops, to prevent the cornea from drying.

5, after the operation, before the cat is awake, it should be placed flat, do not nest to the neck, in order to avoid suffocation. (Especially if you're taking your cat home

6, female cat sterilization surgery needs stitches, so don't let it do strenuous exercise after surgery, so as not to pull the wound. Generally 7 days or so wound can heal, at this time you can take it to the hospital stitches.

7, male cats do birth control surgery is usually not stitched up, so after the operation to pay strict attention to it too much licking wounds, so as not to cause infection.

8, after taking the cat home, it is best to put it flat in the cat house, not on the bed or sofa, so as not to fall in a state of wakeiness.

9. It is best for the owner to accompany the cat all the time before the anesthetic effect becomes ineffective. There are many cats that urinate when they are not awake, which can easily stain wounds if not detected and cleaned up.

10. Two to three days after the operation, if the cat has symptoms such as wound secretion and elevated temperature, it should go to the hospital in time. The male cat is 9 months old and the female cat is 4 to 9 months old enough to be spayed or neutered. The time of sexual maturity varies greatly among cats, generally speaking, purebred cats mature late and domestic cats mature earlier. There is one caveat: spaying and neutering should be avoided when cats are in heat. Because of the high concentration of sex hormones in the blood at this time, the operation will cause excessive bleeding, and the hormones will make urine urination, fighting and other estrus behaviors remain in the memory of the cat, affecting the behavior after KC. Should wait for a period of time, such as the cat temporarily not estrus surgery.

Many grumpy cats will be relatively docile after being neutered, which is very favorable. It should be noted that the cat's diet may increase after being neutered, and it is not willing to move. The owner should mobilize the enthusiasm of the cat to prevent the cat from gaining weight.
